My Dreadlock Extension Installation services in Melbourne
I offer 2 types of extension installations:
- Dreadlock creation with extensions – I will create new dreads and add extensions at the end.
- Dreadlock extension attachments – I will add extensions to existing dreadlocks.
What type of Dreadlock Extensions do I use?
I work with 100% Human Hair and high quality Synthetic Hair.
My dreadlock extensions are handmade with only a crochet hook. No products, glue or waxes are used to make your extensions.
Custom order dreadlock extensions
Each dreadlock is around 7-8 mm wide (medium size). Please allow some small variations as the extensions are handmade.

Can you colour your dread extensions?
Because it is real hair, my Human Hair dreadlock can be dyed. However, because they have being dyed already to achieve the target colour, you might not be able to achieve your desired colour. Let me know if you are planning to dye your dreadlocks in the future.
Synthetic dreadlock extensions are made of plastic, they can’t be dyed.
Dread extensions maintenance
- Your dread extensions might be a bit stiff after installation but they will soften and become more flexible over time. After a few shampoos, you will notice that they will soften and behave more like regular dreadlocks.
- Other than your standard new growth maintenance that comes along with all dreadlocks, there is no extra maintenance for your extensions.
- Similarly to natural dreadlocks, I would advise you to only use a residue free shampoo to avoid getting build up.
What is the minimum length to start dreadlocks with extensions?
You will need at least 5-6cm long in order to start dreadlocks with extensions.
How do the dreadlock extensions last?
Synthetic hair extensions last you around 1-2 years. while human hair extensions can last you up to 3 years.

- Select your appointment date & time.
- Enter your details & pay your deposit with a credit/debit card. This will be deducted from your appointment at the end of your service.
Once you have booked online, you will receive a confirmation email and text.
