Q: How long does my hair need to be to start dreadlocks?
All your hair needs to be at least 15cm to start dreadlocks with your own hair or with extensions – meaning that the shortest bits in your hair needs to be 15cm at least.
Around this length, expect your dreads to stick up for a while.
Q: How often should I do dreadlock maintenance?
You maintain your dreads 3-4 times a year.
Q: How often should I wash my dreads?
You should wash your hair at least once a week.
Q: What shampoo should I use to wash my dreads?
In order to avoid residue forming on your dreads, you should be using a residue free shampoo. Here an thorough article to help you select your dread shampoo: How to wash dreadlocks
Q: How long will it take to make my dreadlock extensions?
As soon as I receive your deposit, I go ahead and start creating your extensions. Depending on availability, I can see you in 5-20 days from when you paid your deposit.
Q: How long will it take to install my dread extensions on the day of my visit?
It can take between 4-12 hours + depending on the amount of dreads you鈥檒l be having installed and how much of your own hair will need to be dreaded before the extensions are installed,
If you are having 40 dreadlock extensions installed (18-inch) to 2 inches of your own hair, it will take around the time will take roughly 8 hours. I work very fast and efficiently.
Q: I have dandruff, what should I use to remove them?
The best is to wash your hair more often (at least every 2-3 days) with a dandruff shampoo.
I can’t permanently get rid of dandruff as, once I’ve got dandruff, it’s for life. It will come and go depending on stress, fatigue, hair care products and so on. Using a dandruff shampoo more often will help with the issue. Here is an in-depth article on how to treat dandruff on dreadlocks.
Q: I have just started my dreadlocks, how can I care for them?
Here are a few tips to start your dread journey:
- Wash your hair at least once a week with a residue free shampoo. Here are some tips to wash your dreads.
- Sea salt is awesome to help maturing dreads. Don’t hesitate to go to the beach! Rinse your hair with tap water after going to the sea.
- Maintain your dreads at least 3 times a year.
- Don’t use wax or conditioner on your dreads as it will leave residue and start smelling
- Dry totally your dreads after washing them to avoid mold.
- Do a deep cleanse 3-4 times a year.
Q: Do you do Afro hair?
Yes I can start dreadlocks and maintain them using my crochet hook. I don’t offer interlocking or retwist.
Q: Do you do Asian hair?
Yes, I can create and maintain dreadlocks on Asian hair.
Q: Where are you located?
I am located in Coburg North.
Q: Why do I need to pay for a deposit?
The deposit is to secure your appointment. I had many people cancelling at the last minutes their appointment resulting in lost of business and revenue. The deposit helps me reducing the risk of cancellation.
The deposit will be deduced from the total amount at the end of your service.
The checkout is 100% safe. I don’t store any credit card details.
I only accept booking online after a deposit as been paid.
Q: Do you offer AfterPay?
Not currently.
Q: Can I buy gift cards?
I now offer gift cards to treat your loved one with one of my premium package.
Once you’ve completed your order, you will receive within a few hours an email with your gift card.

No, I currently don’t offer home visits.
